Blog post one, the bloginning.

Writer: Kirstie FlanaganKirstie Flanagan

Goooood afternoon internet!

My name is Kirstifer and I make things. “What things do you make?!” I hear you crying from the rooftops and the answer is kinda anything. Most of my skills are with soft materials like fabrics and polymers but I’ve worked with wood and metal in the past too, oh and arty stuff too, like physical art things like painting, drawing and sculpting aaand lets not forget the digital art side of things where I am trained in the adobe creative suite and I regularly draw on procreate and I really wanna learn how to sculpt on programs like blender.

Enough about that.

I figured I’d use the blog function that’s on this website to intro y’all to me and for me to pour my ideas out and to see if maybe one day I make something of them. Feel free to hold me accountable to this (please do, the ADHD is rough for this sort of thing).

But yeah! Hi! Ask me anything!

Current ideas flying around my brain:

  • Dog wheel zootrope:

    • You know those cat wheels where inside cats can exercise? Could we make a bigger one for a small/medium sized dog and maybe, just maybe what if we put a zootrope inside it so that when they’re running, it activates their chase drive and for the little fuzzbutts that have too much energy (I’m actively thinking of my parents dog here) they can run it off while thinking they’re chasing a bunny or squirrel or something.

  • Lazy cosplay:

    • Maaan I love games and comic expos but going hard on cosplay looks like a full time job. So, when I was overstimulated at a comic-con a few years ago, I came up with the idea of “lazy cosplay”. Things like a little white triangle attached to a hair clip to be an anime ghost, a headband with a plumbbob above it so you can be a sim, a stick on moustache and beard to be the “evil” version of yourself (think evil troy and evil abed). There’s so many more. Maybe I’ll make it a regular segment and put together a strong list and maybe I’ll even get around to making them!

I think that’s it for now. But please get in touch if you’ve got any questions, queries or ideas you’d like to have a go at! <3

Take care and I’ll speak to you soon,

Kirstifer <3
